General guidance
Every U.S. state now allows "no-fault" divorce, meaning neither spouse has to prove the other did anything wrong to end the marriage. A little under half of states also still allow you to file on fault grounds, including adultery, as an alternative — and in some of those states, proven infidelity can factor into alimony or, more rarely, property division. It essentially never affects the divorce being granted or how much time it takes.
Rules vary a great deal by state and even by county practice, so this is general orientation, not legal advice. A licensed family law attorney in your state can tell you what actually applies to your situation.
